BX HST noise
Jun 10 2009, 10:59 AM EDT
I test drove new BX1860 and 2360's the other day and noticed a lot of hydraulic-type noise occurring when the machine was moving either forward or reverse, which seemed to be amplified by the roll bar. The dealer said the fluid levels were normal and he did not think there were any unusual noises. Is this common on the BX? I drove a similar tractor from another manufacturer last week and there was no similar noise. Maybe I just need better earplugs if I buy a BX. Comments?

I have a new BX 1860 and it does whine. I asked the dealer during the delivery run through, and he said they all do it. I hope that is the case.Bill Do you find this valuable? |

Thanks for the quick reply. It sounds like that's the way they all are. Too bad, that could be a show-stopper for me.

I wouldn't let it stop the show. I am really pleased with every other aspect of the BX. After first noticing the noise and being informed that it was normal, I don't even hear it anymore.Bill Do you find this valuable? |

The 50 series and 60 series apparently have this problem. The 30 series, IE Bx1830 , Bx2230 didn't make a whining noise. Best of luck! Do you find this valuable? |

My bx 24 does it as well. I have heard a few of them and they all sound the same, ( They sound even better with those sound dampening fm radio ear muffs the sell at lowes.)
