I just bought a BX2360 with fel and box/scraper (it will be delivered sometime this week). I have done some research and I can't find the overall measurements with the attachments. I did find the overall measurement of the tractor itself but that was it. Does anyone have this information available or know where I can find it. I am needing this information to make sure I do not have to modify my barn before delivery.
Thanks for your help

Anyone using a disc harrow with their BX tractor? I had a 4 footer made and it works good when the gangs are adjusted to their setting that cuts least aggressively. However if I set the gangs on the disc to cut the most aggressively, the tractor seems to be laboring and it makes a more pronounced whining in the transmission, but still cuts nicely. Is this too much for my BX2230, or is it safe to do light disc harrowing for my wildlife food plots and garden. I comprimised and set it for a medium cut, but don't want to damage a transmission or anything.

I pull a Farmpride 48" harrow with my BX-24 without too much difficulty. I have hard ground, so I'm going to have to weight it next year so that I don't have to make so many passes.
I keep the tractor in low and let it go...

today I lowered my 3pt. hitch which had my log splitter attached. Lowered it to lowest point possible approx. 6 inches from ground. Was then unable to raise hitch at all. Position and draft levers move back and forth with no movement whatsoever from the 3pt. hitch. Hitch continues to maintain approx. 6 inches from ground. hydralic fluid level is ok.. Seems like hitch has become detached from housing(?) tractor is: 1987 kubota L4150

When i built the same tester gauge set to check my hydraulic pressure, it was only 1700PSI, added (1) shim = to .014" increased pressure to 1845PSI. this was checked at operating temperatures. Reason for testing was that I felt the FEL was not as strong as when first brought home.. Pressure was low than spec. after operating for 100 hrs.

I test drove new BX1860 and 2360's the other day and noticed a lot of hydraulic-type noise occurring when the machine was moving either forward or reverse, which seemed to be amplified by the roll bar. The dealer said the fluid levels were normal and he did not think there were any unusual noises. Is this common on the BX? I drove a similar tractor from another manufacturer last week and there was no similar noise. Maybe I just need better earplugs if I buy a BX. Comments?

I just did my 50 hour maintenance on my BX24. Has anyone else had issue with the published capacity of the transmission? I spilled a bit of UDT trying to fill the puppy.
I have skid plates on (LOVE them), and was able to remove/replace the oil and transmission filters without removing them. I used a wrench to loosen them. You need to take off the right-rear wheel to get to the transmission filter.

My kubota dealer said to be carefull when using other hydraulic fluids when servicing the bx line they call for a full synthetic oil due to the high rpms and heat it will endure. using the regular hydraulic fluid will cause an overheating problem in the tranny. The kubota synthetic fluid was not cheap but you allready spent $16000 on the machine so I figure whats another $100. And they said to check the fluids in the ground level posistion on the loader and with the boom pinned on the rear. I hope this can help.

What's the difference between a B and BX? The B has higher clearance but is it a much bigger machine? I live in a mountainous area and would like to use this as a bush hog, among other things. Haven't bot one yet, but drove a BX and am in love but worried about clearance. Thanks.

That's a good question that other potential BX purhasers would be interesting. Ground clearance does appear to be the main difference. I looked up a discussion on TractorBy Net and I have put a link to it on the Buying / Pricing page of this site. http://www.bxtractors.info/page/Buying+%2F+Pricing

Yes the fan can be replaced , it takes 3 hands to do it , put fan on spline first then have someone hold the part the fan bolts to on the spline , it takes some doing but you then bolt the fan to the part it goes to , we used a small mirror to aline the bolt holes , took awhile but it is on .

Hi cookstove. Thanks. Actually there's already a link to tractorsmart and some other online suppliers on the Parts Suppliers page. http://www.bxtractors.info/page/Parts+and+ManualsI guess I need to make it a bit easier to find the Parts page in the menu, although another way to find things on this site is to just type the word into the "Search this site" box at the top left. regards, Andy

I have a BX2230 with 160 hours. After a hard day on the farm pulling a box grader at near full throtle for an hour or so the speed control pedal no longer returns to neutral. It pretty much doesn't return at all from the forward position and from the reverse position seems to want to return to neutral but doesn't make it without help. I have checked and greased the pedal pivot and disassembled, checked, and reassembled the linkage to the shaft (trunnion) that enters the HST. The problem seems to be that the trunnion is very difficult to turn. I wasn't able to move it by hand at all. Otherwise the tractor/HST works fine. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Much appreciated.

Thanks much for the link, apmillard. I read the thread and those fellows had some luck dissembling and cleaning. I think I will try again and go deeper. If not dirt perhaps the trunnion bushings are the problem.

I discovered while plowing snow in reverse that the lower link can be bent easily. I don't remember anything special that happened the other night, but I discovered a lot of play in the back blade and when I inspected it closely noticed one link bent slightly. I removed the right link and pressed it straight again. It was suprising how the mild steel pressed flat and these links 5/8X 3 " links . I posted some pictures in my photos. (Dakota) for the curious......

Well after straighting it, I bent it again yesterday. I was being carefull, but pushing a lot of snow when it fetched again on something. I'll strengthen it this time with some flat bar on top and bottom. The steel is very mild. You couldn't push dirt the way it is now!

Has anyone seen a lawn striping roller to mount on the 54" MMM? I was also considering fabricating one to mount on the bagger - perhaps by using the holes that normally house the bagger parking stands. Mounting a spring-loaded tube-steel bracket here would be an ideal location for a lawn striper. Mounted behind the tires for best effect, and wouldn't interefere with installation / removal of MMM. Has anyone made one, or seen a commercial version for the BX2230? Welding up the brackets is easy enough, but I would like to find a roller with bearings that is approx. 48"wide.

RE: Bx2230 Lawn Striping Kit, See Photo Album

I built a custom lawn striper for by Bx 2230, but it could be made for any Bx. It is designed to work with the Kubota triple bagger. If you have a bagger, you know that they mount to the top link and lower link of the TPH only. ie: they do not use the hydraulic lift arms normally. I built longer lift arms to match the look of factory lift arms, and now the heavy sand-filled rollers are raised and lowered with the stock rear hydraulics. Because the bagger occupies the lower TPH arms, the striper was mounted to the tractor frame with brackets and clevis pins. To install just takes 4 clevis pins / and hair pins. Let me know if anone needs dimensions to build their own. FAQ: 1. Does the striper increase the overall length of the tractor? No. The striper tucks neatly under the bagger. 2. Do the deck and striper raise and lower together with the stock lever? Yes. 3. Are the rollers sepparated to allow for faster rotation of the outer roller to prevent turf damage when turning? Yes. 4. Does the striper interfere with normal bagger operation, or interefere with the bagger parking stands? No. 5. How wide is the striper? 45 inches. This is just wider than the rear tires. 6. Why is the striper mouted at the rear of the tractor, and not on the deck? Clearance is an issue for deck-mounted stripers on the Bx. Also, the best striping effect is achieved when the striper is the last thing to contact the ground. 7. How much did it cost to build? I started with a $25 Arnold universal lawn striper meant for a lawn tractor (Craigslist of Ebay). Including the 3/16" x 1.25" flat stock (5 feet), 3/16" angle iron (4 feet), 3/4" cold rolled steel rod (38"), 1" x 2" rectangular stock (2 feet), and hardware from Home Depot in the electrical section by the superstrut stock, and sand: the project total was $100. *** See Photo Album for Pics ***

I have a bagger for my BX2230, and I wanted to be able to mulch. Kubota sells a mulching kit, but you have to bolt it to the underside of the deck. I made a simple insert plate that fits inside the bagger boot out of 16 guage steel sheet metal. I cut it to fit with a cardboard template, and bolted it to the inside of the boot with (4) #10 x 3/4" bolts. The boot installs easily with one thumb-screw. To bag, I simply switch to my other boot (I used to have two baggers and I kept the second boot as a spare). I tested it on the Fall maple leaves, and it worked great.
