  • Removing implement videos. Here are some cool videos of taking the implements on and off. Is there a good place to post them here?

  • Power for work lights?? Did you look at the lights page on this site? There are links to some discussions including one with photos of the connections. Type Lights into the saerch field and you should find it, or use the menus and go into the Implements/Attachements section.

  • 2660 and mower deck I actually have the BX2230 with the 54" deck. What works best for me is to raise the deck lift fully, then move the deck height dial to"TOP" which locks the deck from being lowered, even if you lower a three-point implement.
    -Best Regards

  • Slow Hydraulics on BX-22 Help needed! I have a BX-22 with about 500 hours and have had all the service done as suggested by Kubota at the dealership. Expensive! I have had a problem of hydraulic hoses failing and have had to replace 5 or 6 of them in the last year. The last hose that failed was on the backhoe and I didn't see it right away and lost lots of fluid. I replaced the hose and fluid, and now have a situation where the loader and backhoe barely move. I have changed the fluid, the filter and the screen, with no improvement. Do you think my hydraulic pump is damaged? The tractor runs great and the transmission runs as good as ever. Only the implements are slow moving. I also have sporatic power steering drop outs, but not all the time. Could it me the priority valve? I need suggestions. I have ordered a pressure test kit, but it hasn't arrived yet.

  • BX2660 Rear Toolbox Here is another toolbox option. I also lamented the lack of a handy toolbox on my BX2660 and was very interested to see the options posted on this forum. Good ideas can lead to other ideas, and while this one may not suit all BX tractors (eg would not suit those with a rear mounted excavator), it should be ideal for any with a 3PL. I also decided that behind the seat was the best location. Here it does not impede the operator, tractor or implement operation (except the seat cannot be fully reclined, and I never do that anyway) is safe, is in the most convenient position, and the lid fully opens and stays open. Fitting implements and adjusting the 3PL is when you need a handy toolbox for spanners etc at the rear of the tractor.

I also decide the small red toolbox that suits the TEA20 and other MF tractors was the ideal size. I have a TEA20 so I know these toolboxes well. I mounted the toolbox to a steel bar bracket bent to shape and bolted to the chassis under the seat using existing holes, and also the side of the toolbox is bolted or riveted to the lights bracket on the ROPS, by drilling one small hole through the toolbox and the BX's bracket..
I have some photos and will try to work out how to attach them. The bar bracket was made from a length of 50mm x 4mm flat-bar, with a couple of angles bent into it. (25x 4-6mm would also be suitable)

"Hi Andy, How do I get to the link you're talking about? Not a lot of discussion in this group. New group or been around awhile?
    Have a great day
    Larry"
    Hi Larry,

On the left hand side of this site is a menu. (It is above the stack of Google Ads and below the word Home). That shows all the top level pages of this site. Click on the orange triangles to expand the menu entries. E.g. in the Implements/Attachments menu are pages for Aerator, Back blade, Backhoe etc.)

Further down the menu is a heading "Parts and Manuals" and that page has the link I referred to (and that you also supplied). The menu is easier to use if you "grab" the dotted link at its lower edge and pull it down to give a taller menu area.

I agree the menu could be easier to use but it's outside of my control. This site is hosted by Wetpaint and they make money from the Google ads - so they want to make sure they are visible instead of the menu, unfortunately. Getting the ads removed from the site would cost $20 a month, so unless enough members contribute to cover it we are stuck with the ads.

As for why there isn't much discussion on this site, I created the site in 2007 to become more like an online manual for BX tractors and their attachments rather than a discussion board. I try to put the best definitive information I can on each page, but because I don't have much time I frequently put a link to the most educational discussions already taking place on the TractorByNet Kubota forums. So if you have a specific question that is not answered already here, that's the place to ask it.

Since we are talking about the history of the site here are some statistics ...
    107 registered members.
10,000 visits in the first 6 months of this year. 90% from the US, 9% from Canada.
States with most visits, PA, NY, VA, OH
Most popular pages: Tooth Bar and Thumb pages.

  • Bx 24
"I am considering purchasing a new bx 24 I'm on 5 acres of hilly ground part of which I am growing olive tree's ,citrus and fruit and nut tree's. I was going to spec it out with Bush Hog SQ142 Rotary Cutter,60" landpride Rear Blade RB548, Landpride Landscape Rake LR0560 54" mid mount mower. On the FEL I was considering putting on a tooth bar FTB to suit by W.R Long. Can the tooth bar be taken off when you are not using the FEL for digging? Would you substitute the tooth bar with the W.R Long Wear bar for general use,I'm assuming that they would share the same holes on the FEL.

A suggestion was made that I put on a Rankin thumb to the BH I was a little concerned that they would have to weld it on to prevent slipage but if I needed to get it off at some stage this would be a problem . Does anyone have any experience with this thumb how does it compare to the Bro-Tek? in quality , strengh etc. Has anybody had slippage with this thumb?

I had a look at the Bro-Tek web site and was impressed with the rear and front skid plates due to the fact that I seem to have rocks that grow out of the ground , has anybody who has fitted the rear skid had any conflict when putting on there Mid Mount Mower.

Bro-tek,s ripper and trenching plow look quite good if anybody has purchased these items could they tell me if they are happy with these items ? "
Hi and Welcome to the BX Wiki. Firstly I'd say that you'll get more replies to questions if you post them on TractoryByNet in the Kubota forum - it's more active than the Discussion forum here. However I'll answer a few of your points.

The WR Long bar attaches with bolts, so in that sense you can remove it. I think you can also fold it back into the bucket but I expect that still requires the bolts to be loosened. I'm planning to get one myself. I've not seen any mention of the Wear Bar in the context of BX24s - I do not think most owners use one.

Similarly Rankin thumb does not seem to get mentioned (on TractorbyNet) by BX24 owners. Most have the Wallenstein or Bro-Tek thumbs. The Wallenstein has had slipping issues (as mentioned on the Thumb page of this site). The Bro-Tek does not slip and does not require welding.
The rear skidplate should work with the MMM - there is a removable "door" in the skidplat to accommodate the PTO attachment.
