At least one owner has purchased wheel spacers for a BX24 from Bro-Tek, widening the rear wheelbase by 4 1/2 inches. This will increase stability, but there are some issues to watch out for:
  • If you use a 54" mower, the wider wheel spacing will interfere with the rear guide wheels of the deck. In short it seems that you can't have both the spacers and mower installed at the same time.
  • There is a question as to whether the spacers will increase the stress on the axle. The BX24 manual warns against increasing the distance between the wheels but does explain the risks. Consequently the warranty will probably be voided if damages occurs in the axle area after spacers are fitted,

The spacers are not currently viewable on the Bro-Tek web site, but here are some pictures, to find out more contact Richard at Bro-Tek.
