Skidplate: Custom 2This is a featured page

Custom rear skidplate (on BX23) by Volfandt (BXtractors.info member)

Made from stock lying to hand, including an access panel off of a PBX cabinet.

In the 1st pic you can see the two hooks at the bottom of the plate. I cut 2 pieces of 3/4" wide x 1/4" thick bar stock I had into 7" pieces then heated and bent them into a "Z" shape. They slide in on top of the frame just below the HST.The front brackets hook into the MMM lift arm mounts. A spacer in the front keeps it from slapping around and tightens it up. There's still gaps on the sides but it'll deflect anything directly below.

The plate is 24 3/4" long x 10 3/4" wide. You can go wider by atleast 3 more inches if not more to get better coverage.

The rear hooks are 7" pieces bent into a Z shape. The bottom is 2", the rise is 2" and the hook is 3".

The main support bracket started out 24 1/2" long and the ends were measured back approx 4 1/4" then bent up 90 degrees. The key is to have around 15 3/4" inbetween the bends. The pin holes are 11/16".

The bracket at the front is approx 4" long which is enough to keep the plate tight.
