Rotary Cutter
A rotary cutter is rear-mounted, and in medium or heavy duty forms can clear saplings and brush. It is sometimes referred to as a brush hog or bush hog.
Typical widths are 42, 48 and 60 inches. Being heavy items it may be necessary to have keep some weight on the front end as a counterbalance, especially as the center of gravity is some distance behind the 3 pt hitch. Note that BX tractors (being sub-compact) have a relatively low frame, and so a standard cutters (not designed for sub-compacts) may not be raised high enough for some purposes (such as driving up a ramp onto a trailer). Consequently many owners have had to modify attachment points, including cutting and re-drilling. Pay attention to the discussions below if you are thinking of a rotary cutter.
If you will be cutting saplings, consider protecting the tractor belly with a skidplate.
