The ROPS is the Roll-Over Protection System - the steel frame that is mounted behind the seat and extends above the operator's head. In the event of a roll-over, the ROPS should prevent the operator from being crushed by the tractor. If you modify your ROPS (for example to weld or bolt on some auxiliary lights you may void some part of your warranty. The ROPS is a safety feature and modifications have the potential to weaken it (and possibly to affect insurance payment in the event of an accident).

Knobs

We don't have a definitive answer from Kubota, but the best guess is to tighten any slackness, preventing shearing of the bolt during a rollover. An additional suggestion was to prevent rattling of the joint. The knobs may come loose and back themselves out. One suggested cure is to deform the threads so they cannot back out all the way.
